The rustic country kitchen and segmented living space did not fit the modern style and open living this young family preferred. So, the old fireplace and all but one structural wall was removed, opening up the entire living space. The ceiling was expanded to the roof line, creating a grand new space and allowed for a second story loft above the kitchen. A NanaWall folding door was added to the back of the home to open the kitchen up to a new, outdoor patio with automatic retractable screens.  A tall, custom bookcase and catwalk is accessed via a moving ladder.
